DIRECTV Launches 3D HD Content!

3D content is currently available from DIRECTV! They have recently launched their first HD 3D content, ESPN 3D, on June 11, 2010. Since then, they've launched n3D, a dedicated 3D network, as well as 3D HD Pay Per View and DIRECTV CINEMA™ features. Additionally, they also provide 3D content available to watch instantly.

The following channels are currently available in 3D HD:

Channel 103 n3D™ Powered by Panasonic
Channel 104 DIRECTV CINEMA™ in 3D (Pay Per View)
Channel 105 3D Content to Watch Instantly
Channel 106 ESPN 3D

As of now, the new DIRECTV HD 3D programming platform offers 3D DIRECTV CINEMA™ content focused on movies, documentaries and other programming; a channel with 3D content available to watch instantly; a free channel called DIRECTV n3D™ powered by Panasonic, featuring event programming such as sports, music and other content; and ESPN 3D featuring top-flight sporting events in 3D.

What is n3D all about you ask? Well, n3D™ is DIRECTV’s new 24/7 3D channel powered by Panasonic. It delivers the best 3D shows, movies and sports from AEG/AEG Digital Media, CBS, Fox Sports/FSN, Golden Boy Promotions, HDNet, MTV, NBC Universal and Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.

How can you start enjoying this new 3D experience? With the right equipment, all DIRECTV HD customers will be able to experience this new frontier in television entertainment at no extra charge. DISH Network Integrates Seamlessly with Google TV

DISH Network has announced that their Google TV™ solution is now available to their customers for the lowest price on the market: $179. By combining robust search capabilities and all the content of the Web with DISH Network's onscreen programming data, DVR and Video on Demand features, DISH Network delivers a seamless entertainment experience resulting in the most advanced integration of Google TV available anywhere.

Only DISH Network customers will have access to the most fully-featured Google TV experience possible, which includes a unique pairing protocol for simultaneous search capabilities across Web and DVR content, as well as DISH Network’s VOD programming. Customers can now surf the Web, check email, interact with social media, and find additional online television content all without getting up from their television.

DISH Network and Fox reach an agreement.

Perhaps you've heard that DISH Network and Fox were having problems ironing out a deal for the satellite provider to continue carrying programming from the broadcasting giant? Well, have no fear! The two side have ironed out a deal that will ensure that DISH Network's customers continue to receive their Fox programming without the rate hike that Fox was threatening to force DISH to pass on to their customers. Terms of the deal are still unknown, but it's not like that effects us average Joes anyway.

DIRECTV drops popular G4 channel.

DIRECTV has recently dropped the popular G4 channel from their service. The G4 channel is the best place to find all the latest news from the increasingly popular world of video games. Needless to say, many DIRECTV viewers are now very unhappy. The best solution for them would be to switch to DISH Network. Not only would they save money on their monthly bill, but they would get their G4 programming back. G4 is available on DISH Network channel 191.

Discovery Kids channel becomes Hub!

For anyone that hasn't already seen this, the channel formerly known as Discovery Kids is now called The Hub. This is actually a really great channel that everyone in the family will most likely enjoy watching at one time or another. They have brought back many great, classic shows and cartoons that you can't find anywhere else. Classics like Family Ties, The Wonder Years, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, and Doogie Howser M.D., along with cartoon icons like the original G.I. Joe and Transformers. Check it out today on DISH Network channel 179 or DIRECTV channel 294. The Hub is a joint venture between Discovery Communications and Hasbro. The channel is available in DISH Network's America's Top 250 and America's 'Everything" Pak, and can be found in DIRECTV's CHOICE XTRA, CHOICE ULTIMATE, or PREMIER Package.
